What is DotComJunkies?
Basicly we host personal homepage accounts. The most important parts of this
account are guestbooks, chatboxes and forums/messageboards. The forums are most
popular. Although each forum stands on its own, they are all connected in a way.
Because of that, a membership or handle works on all forums. So if you login
DotComJunkies, you can use this login at the complete website.How
can you become part of it?
Dotcomjunkies is a free service. We offer 3 types of memberships. The
options are:
1. Free registered handle: A handle is your unique
nickname you can register with us. Its simple, signup
here and you will receive an auto-email containing your password. If you
didn't receive the password, please email to members -at- dotcomjunkies.com and mention the
handle/nickname you tried to register. We will fix it and send you a password
manual. The moment your handle is registered, you can login DotComJunkies at our
mainpage, or using the direct-link here. Keep in mind that each forum-owner is
free to decide who he accepts as poster. So a registered handle does not
guarantee access to each and every forum.
One free handle for each person/regular
visitor of dcj permitted! unless you have
valid reasons for registering multiple handles. Please contact us in that case.
2. Partial membership: Full members (see #3) may ask
others to help them running their homepage/forum. For this purpose, our script
provides a special membership, with partial access to the full member's account.
This partial member (usually called a "mod") has an icon in
front of his name/handle so others can see he is mod. To make use of this part
of our service, full members may apply to make a certain handle
"mod". Use our mail or just drop a message at our members-only forum.
3. Full membership including homepage account. If you want to create
your own personal homepage, you can apply for a free account. Mail us members -at- dotcomjunkies.com.
We reserve the right to place advertises onto your free hosted pages, but it won't be "overdone" or spammy. Think about a
small google "adwords" spot or a few textlinks in headers or footers.
(this ads issue is not yet fully prepared). What do you get with a free account:
- Registered handle with your own icon
- A guestbook which contains the primal tools/options
- A chatbox for private and public chats
- A messageboard, with enough tools to admin it
