Get VirtualDub...you have an uncompressed avi which is huge like that. Although 1.2Gig for 3 minutes is way huger as i expected :-)
http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/
How to use Vdub is a subject you can talk about for day's...but in short:
Load Vdub
In "file" choose "open video"
In "audio" choose "full processing mode"
In "audio" choose "compression" and pick one like mpeg layer 3
In "video" choose "full processing mode"
In "video" choose "compression" and pick a common one available like divx/xvid (with the "configure" button you can set bitrate, keyframes etc)
In "file" choose "save as avi" and give a new filename.
If you can do this, its not hard to explore more options and play with settings to get better results.
If you only want a part of the movie, use the two arrows mid-bottom to "set selection start" and "set selection end"...than it only picks the selected part.
But like i said...you can talk days about this. I hope i didn't forget to mention key-tasks
Good Luck
See ya, Killer
