...for others that might read this post. You have to select what video codec you want your saved file to be saved as. Otherwise, VD will save it uncompressed and yes, it will be quite large. That's what video codecs do, compress the video data. I won't go into all the different codecs or settings here, much too detailed to do in a post.
After you had edited the main vid to get the section you wanted or before you even edit, goto VIDEO and select DIRECT STREAM COPY. Then goto save as .avi file, name it, hit OK, and VD will popup the progress dialogue box and do it's thing. Sometimes when using direct stream copy, the end result can have audio slightly out of sync. This has nothing to do with you, it has to do with cutting a vid and the original codecs used when the main vid was encoded. Under this circumstance, this is when you would need to use full processing mode for video and select what video codec to use. If I remember correctly and maybe I'm not, you can still leave the audio set to source audio...if I'm wrong on that and one needs to re-encode the audio as well, please reply and correct me. I honestly don't remember...old brain cells and no sleep and all that. lol
I just wanted you to know what it sounded like "was up" with your results.
THANKS to Uncle Bill for his reply and suggestion. Great little program he told you about, have used it myself and I use the clip joiner program from the same company all the time.
Okay, enough typing.
