After Kevin Godley and Lol Creme left 10cc in late 1975, Graham Gouldman and Eric Stewart carried on with the idea “We can be just as successful without Kevin and Lol”. With that in mind they recorded and scored a lot of success with 1976’s DECEPTIVE BENDS. Thus, it was decided to form a band and tour once again, into the following year. This release, LIVE and LET LIVE, featured most of the songs from DECEPTIVE BENDS, and the 10cc Top Ten Hits (at least in the UK) written by Graham and Eric. This is a fairly good “live” package, but many felt it simply didn’t have the “punch” it needed. Noteworthy, are Tony O’Malley struggling to sing “Art for Arts Sake” (Why Eric didn’t sing it--who knows??) and the inclusion of the b-side “Waterfall” performed live. Within a year, Tony O’Malley would be gone, replaced by Duncan Mackay, and 10cc would record the classic BLOODY TOURIST album, and score another UK number ONE hit with “Dreadlock Holiday”.
