Of all of your relatives (just family in this post..I may do one for friends) that have passed on ..who do you miss the most?

For me it is my mom. She died a little over ten years ago. There are still times when I almost pick up the phone to call her about something. She and I talked almost every day by phone and saw each other at least once a week.

We never had the terrible relationship that some girls go through with their moms. That was because MY mom forgave me (silently) for all the times I acted like a total brat. I cringe to think of the things I said to her as a teen.

I never loved her more than when I had my boys. She loved them so much and was always there to help me with them and give advise..when asked..she never offered unless asked. They in turn loved her as much as a grandma could be loved.

So while Memorial Day is for veterans..I think there are SOME veterans (like my mom) who served well beyond the call of duty. They should be saluted too.
