When was the last time you felt physical pain?
For me, it was yesterday. My middle finger was swallen with this kind of blister thing on the soft pad at the top. I had to pick up a prescription from my doctors surgery so had a nurse take a peek at it to see if she could recommend some ointment or other.
It was so painful, any little knock brought tears to my eyes and it looked and felt like it was going to burst. V. strange.
Well, the nurse took a look but didn't have a clue and went and got David (my doctor) to come take a peek. David decided it needed to be lanced and asked me if I wanted anaesthetic, I decided against it because the thought of two injections in my finger was too much to bear.
You have no idea of the courage it took to let the nurse hold my hand straight and let David open up my finger with a scalpel, the pain was unbelievable. I screamed 'FUCK' so loud that I have no doubt that everyone in the waiting room heard me. *blush*
So ... tell me, when was the last time you felt white hot pain?
