The short answer is maybe. 78 was a pretty common speed prior to 33 1/3 and 45 which came out in 1948 and 1949. but as you'll read in the articles back in the day there were very few standards for speeds, so it may be something weird, but its probably 78. my mom and dad both spoke about playing the 7" 78's on wind up victrolla's in the 30's and 40's. i have a bunch of 7" 78's. i even have the bible on 75 - 16 2/3 speed records that were used for recording books for the blind.
